Tremor ("we", "our", or "us") is developed by Alihan Aktay. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Tremor mobile application.

By using Tremor, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Watch locations you add (your Home and other places you care about). These are stored on our servers only as a coarse grid cell of roughly ±2.4 km — your exact coordinates never leave your device.
• Alert preferences: alert levels, alert radius, night level, and quiet hours (including your time zone, so quiet hours work correctly).
• Any information you include in emails you send to our support address.

Information collected automatically:

• A random device identifier created when you first launch the app. It is not derived from your identity, your Apple ID, or your hardware, and it is stored securely in the device Keychain.
• Apple push notification tokens (for earthquake alerts, widget refresh, and Live Activity updates).
• Subscription status (whether Tremor Pro is active), processed through RevenueCat. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.
• App usage events (e.g. screens viewed, alerts opened) and crash reports via Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, including device model and iOS version. These services process standard request metadata, including IP address.

2. What We Do NOT Collect

• No account, no name, no email address — Tremor has no sign-up.
• No precise location history. We never track where you go; the app only knows the coarse cells of places you explicitly add.
• No contacts, photos, or files.
• No advertising identifiers and no cross-app tracking.
• We do not sell or rent any data to anyone.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To match detected earthquakes against your watch locations and deliver alert notifications you asked for.
• To power home screen and lock screen widgets and Live Activities.
• To respect your quiet hours and alert level settings.
• To activate and restore Tremor Pro entitlements.
• To diagnose crashes and improve app performance through anonymized analytics.

4. Third-Party Services

• Apple — push notification delivery (APNs) and all payment processing (App Store).
• RevenueCat — subscription management, keyed to the random device identifier only.
• Google Firebase — analytics and crash reporting.
• Cloudflare — hosting for our backend and database.
• USGS, EMSC and NOAA — public scientific feeds we read earthquake and tsunami data from. No personal data is ever sent to them.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your device record and watch locations are retained while you use the app. Deleting the app stops all collection. You may request deletion of your server-side data at any time by contacting us at the email address below; we will delete it within 30 days of receiving your request.

6. Children's Privacy

Tremor does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app requires no account and collects no identity information from any user. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, please contact us immediately.

7. Security

• All communication with our servers uses TLS encryption.
• Device credentials are stored as salted SHA-256 hashes — never in plain text.
• Locations are stored only at coarse precision, by design.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about your device
• Request correction or deletion of that data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
